This Privacy Policy explains how Weddoo (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Weddoo website and mobile applications (together, the “Service”), a matrimony / matchmaking platform. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & identity data: name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), and login credentials.
- Profile data: personal, family, professional, educational, religious, caste/community, and astrological (horoscope / Porutham) details you choose to provide, gender, date of birth, and location.
- Media: profile photos and documents you upload (hosted via Cloudinary).
- Usage & device data: pages viewed, profiles shortlisted or blocked, chat activity, device identifiers, push-notification tokens, IP address, and app/browser type.
- Payment data: when you purchase a premium plan, payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive transaction status and subscription details but do not store full card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and matrimony profile.
- To suggest matches and compute astrological compatibility (Porutham).
- To enable search, shortlisting, messaging, and other core features.
- To process premium subscription payments.
- To send service messages and push notifications (e.g. new messages, matches).
- To moderate content, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and keep users safe.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Visibility of Your Profile
Weddoo is a matchmaking service. Information in your profile (such as photos and personal/family details) is, by design, visible to other registered users so they can consider you as a match. Do not include information you are not comfortable sharing with other members. You can control certain visibility and blocking settings within the app.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Other users, as part of the matchmaking features described above.
- Service providers that operate the platform on our behalf: Razorpay (payments), Cloudinary (media storage), Google Firebase (real-time chat signalling and push notifications), and our cloud hosting/database providers.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or Weddoo.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.
6. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You may access, correct, or update your information from within the app. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by using the in-app option (where available) or by contacting us at developerprash1998@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is intended only for individuals who are of legal marriageable age in their jurisdiction and at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the “Last updated” date above will change.
